Six Word Saturday

Pungent ex-rat inaccessible in roof. Nosepegs.

It's the rainy season. Self respecting rats who have lived outside quite happily for eight months of the year are seeking snugger berths in our roof.  Boy are they loud at night.

We've removed two rats nests, have been checking various traps of different kinds in the roof daily to only catch one rat.  So we moved to poison laid away from the house, in the hope that any who died would die away from the roof.   Which has mainly been so, but now there's one, very dead, under the metal sheet which keeps out the rain, in the roof, completely inaccessible without major work.  Our gardener says that in this heat it'll probably only be three days before the worst of the smell goes.  Hmm.  Fling open those windows.  Cancellation of any social activities in our living room for near future.

  1. Ah noooo.... nothing worse than the smell of decomposing rat. My heart goes out to you (but not my nose)

  2. Oh my! I can't imagine! Rats are somewhat common here in our very pleasant weather; I'm hoping we never get a dead rat decomposing some place close by. One can hope the wind blows in the right direction to help alleviate the smell a bit.
